The Sacred Salmon

The Sacred Salmon

I am pleased that the ‘Sacred Salmon’, first published in the Heretic Magazine Issue 7, is now available on my website.

I have always been fascinated by the Salmon’s ability to return where it was born to breed, and die, but when I started to research the remarkable fish, I discovered that the unassuming creature had emerged through history as the quintessential symbol of wisdom, and was held sacred by the Druids, Celts, Picts and countless indigenous communities.  Quite simply, what I discovered amazed me.

I know it might sound a little odd – a salmon being sacred – but give it go and let me know what you think. I hope you like it.

An amazingly well documented article that meets the demands of so many fields of study.
I was thrilled to find out how this little creature, the salmon, became a sacred symbol of Wisdom and was venerated in different cultures from ancient times and even today.
Congratulations, Andrew, for the thorough research you have made!
