The infinite game of Rennes-le-Château

Is the study of Rennes-le-Château and the ongoing revision of its mythology an elaborate game? Although irrelevant at first sight, this simple question prompts the development of an interesting model, applicable to many other areas of so-called "mysterious archeology."

Rennes-le-Château is, to me, a key point. And in the context of its infinite game, I have chosen the role of preserver of its original nature.

I see ... self appointed???

RLC is a key point of what? And its original nature is what?

If you didnt have the 'infinite game' - you would have no 'role as preserver of its (RLC) original nature'

Bless you though, for trying :)

PS Dont mind me, i just finished a 12 hour night shift, and am overtired and irritable :)

All in the game though, eh?

Oh, you're a philospher now then?

Cherisey played games all the time.

You dont appear to appreciate his game, or Plantards ;)

Or maybe i am wrong .... dont know you that well.

It does! If not, why wasting my time in writing an article about it? It is the only side of the topic I'm still amazed of. Chérisey's declarations in his "Pierre et Papier" are totally coherent with this playful scenario.

"The problem is not in the game itself: there is no trace of irony in many authors [...], whose participation in the endless game of Rennes-le-Château is largely unconscious."
About this, Luigi Calabrò wrote, "the lack of irony is an important element for the infinite game, because being conscious of playing would generate parodies. Now, players are involuntarily parodistic."

Too wordy, too in depth, and a game in itself.

Too full of psychology trying to explain a simple interest in Sauniere and whether there was any point to his activities.

Its this that gives RLC 'research' a bad name Mariano.

Go and do some proper historical research, and less talking about Monopoly.

And with that im off to bed .... and to dream about the hidden tomb of Alaric :)

Being an infinite game, it should go on.

"Sandy, Bill, Pat, Rene and Bruce, my brother, and everyone else were unwitting pawns in my game [...] I do believe Saunière found a secret, something hidden in the vicinity of Rennes-le-Chateau, and there is something truly amazing to be found. It is something that I will continue looking for." (Ben)

What's amazing is the fact that Ben believes he can still pull something off and pass it off as though none of this ever happened. No shame whatsoever.

Amazing? How long have you been in this forum? I'm wouldn't be shocked to read that the Tomb Man is only pretending to confess in response to repeated Vatican threats, but if you read his "confession" carefully you'll discover it's encrypted with clues to the real secret which is yet to be revealed.

Having no shame would seem to be an almost must-have characteristic for many on this forum, IMHO...
