Here is another installment of the West's progress in their attemp at global domination. Notice how supporters of Bin Laden have promised to avenge their fallen hero. The propaganda machine is in full flow, expect an attack on the west followed by the invasion of another sovereign nation.
I'd be happy if they told us the truth - the world is over populated, the oil is running low and there isn't enough for the long term future so we are cornering the world's oil supply then we are going to stop developing nations like China and Africa from using it.

The president of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy, and the president of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso, have issued this joint statement:
"Osama Bin Laden was a criminal responsible for heinous terrorist attacks that cost the lives of thousands of innocent people. His death makes the world a safer place and shows that such crimes do not remain unpunished... The European Union continues to stand shoulder to shoulder with the United States, our international partners and our friends in the Muslim world in combating the scourge of global extremism and in building a world of peace, security and prosperity for all."

Hmmm...WTFDTTTK...things are not what they seem here.

On a completely different note, the Mother of one of my students used to be his manicurist back in the 80's!

Bin Laden, soon to spotted as much as Elvis.....

Likely to be at your nearest Kwik-Fit along with Michael Jackson, Bruce Lee and Tupac.

It is a bit weird if he has been buried at sea though, surely there were other ways around this. No body, no proof ?

Which would probably be the initial response from most people (including myself) reading about it on the news. So the question is this, why dispose of a body in such a way that everyone would find dubious? The U.S. must've realised that people would query this decision, and thus start the conspiracy ball rolling. Conversely, if they had produced a body, there would be plenty of people saying 'it's fake' etc.

No tomb..... no martyrs grave........... no focus for resistance

I totally agree it is worse, and the last thing anyone wants is a martyr. I just wonder if there was not a different way of doing this, I believe the premise and reasoning is correct though ( not that I can think of another way ).

Maybe the Yanks are looking for a way to destabilize/sanitize the Pakky regime - maybe even find a pretext for an invasion or limited military action such as in Libya.

I so know what you mean Sheila, once somebody proves themselves to be unreliable
and manipulative its difficult to take anything that they say at face value.

But why go to all this trouble to destabilise the status quo? Where's the benefit in a fraud?

Perhaps the Americans are looking to when they leave Afghanistan - and are concerned about what hostile elements in the Pakistan regime/military/security forces are planning - and after all the Pakkies have the bomb.

just a thought but the P word used in that context has acquired a rather negative pejorative meaning in these parts, rather like the N word and shouldn't be used in respectful dialogue. I'm sure you don't mean it in that sense but to avoid any misunderstanding you may wish to chose another descriptor for the people of Pakistan.

Hi,
My initial 'feeling' is that the claim is accurate and Bin Laden is dead. If ‘they’ wanted to fake his death ‘they’ needn’t have ‘faked’ it by doing a very risky (both politically and militarily) military raid almost ‘on’ a Pakistani military base (how many international laws were broken there). That he was being sheltered by the Pakistani military must come as no surprise either to lucid people, and IMHO adds ‘realpolitik’ to the claim. However, Bin Laden had served his purpose. He made a huge amount of money for certain people, but not Obama who is not part of that particular cabal. For Obama, Bin Laden was simply a symbol of failure. So when a chance came for that symbol of failure to become a symbol of success, he ordered it to be taken, unlike his predecessors! Obama needed this to bolster his second term prospects. And it will bolster those prospects IMHO.
As for the burial at sea, that surely is a no brainer for the reasons laid out by Thomas.
The no death picture ‘frenzy’ is also very puzzling IMHO. With modern photographic technology ‘they’ could make any picture ‘they’ wanted. If his death is being faked surely you’d expect a doctored photo to support the claim. And unfortunately, even if a death photo is released, some people will believe it is faked anyway! The lack of a death photo, so far, is just another example, IMHO, of Obama’s continued attempts to appear sensitive and ‘correct’, although there might be a case that any picture might enflame an already volatile situation. Remember that there was a 'huge outcry' in the 'Muslim world' (isn't there always) when the bodies of Uday and Qusay were paraded on TV, and they were generally reviled, even in the 'Muslim world'!

the "death photo" has already been released...it's also been proven to be a fake and been taken off the front pages already...you must have blinked.
