Don't try this at home
What musical note is the monotone drone?

Is it the same key as this? And the same as the yirdaki at the Dance of the Raindow Serpent

What about this

just a theory I'm working on.

right...i see your direction ...electromagnetics?...could be interesting...there's also the Schumann's resonant frequency of the earth that resemble our alpha brainwaves ....7.8hz?...which you certainly can't hear because its ELF..but which affects all of us.

Sorry to be boring but remember the bit in the IBJ article that mentioned the prefered place of burial at St Germaine des Prés was called the "chorus of Monks"...and that royalty wanted to be buried under the feet of the openly praying monks above...the closer the better to Mantras, chanting, certain frequencies etc...

A snake hears very well at frequencies between 200Hz and 300Hz, better than a Cat or a Dog. Most of these drones mentioned operate between these frequencies. Outside these frequencies snakes don't hear well at all.

Pictish stone with tuning fork and mallet to strike it?
Image

Do you think the pattern under the "tuning fork" is being created by the vibrations?

You know I can't help thinking that this stone is just a little too good to be true.

Cymatics: "is the study of visible sound and vibration, a subset of modal phenomena. Typically the surface of a plate, diaphragm, or membrane is vibrated, and regions of maximum and minimum displacement are made visible in a thin coating of particles, paste, or liquid. Different patterns emerge in the exitatory medium depending on the geometry of the plate and the driving frequency."

Brand new Thesis on Cymatics... with bonus mention of snakes included at no extra charge!

Well I think vibration has something to do with this.

That is certainly a possibility.

At any rate, here is some information on this stone from www.scotlandsplaces.gov.uk

Abernethy Tower - Culdee Monks

Need to look at this.

Thanks.

I remembered it, but had a devil of a job finding it.

Here it is.

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=483

And this is a very good link you posted on Page 2 to an inventory of lanternes des morts.

http://lanternes.free.fr/inventaire.htm

An interesting thread to look back through, for various reasons.
