Folklorico Tucson.

It`s the week of Cinco de Mayo celebrating Mexico`s victory over the French.

They were defeated by the Mexican army and a herd of Longhorns.

Napoleon III thought that he would turn Mexico into a colony.

He was defeated.

Renne, I wonder how many 'thangs' happened on 5 May in French history to compete for bein' remembered. I once thought 'boot goin' thru every day of the year for each country to see how the calendar was bein' commemorated.

The missus put a squash to that project 'cuz it'd keep me on-line for quite some time. The local newspaper does that on a daily basis just for the history of the area I am in. Just for chuckles + grins I will call the editor in charge of keepin' track of this history to see if they have 'Net links to the rest of the country and do they share a common database with the University system.

Every day history is bein' made in a myriad of places. It'd be fascinatin' to see how many days went by here in Sweden and the rest of Scandinavia without a major noteworthy activity for any given date..

Here in the USA, the Native Americans have special permission to retrieve the feathers of
exotic birds who die in captivity. Back in ancient times, parrots were a source of food so they
had plenty of feathers. The headbands hold a layer of beeswax in which the feathers are placed
before each performance and they are disassembled when the dance is done. They have enough
trouble getting all of the dancers and their kids into the van without those headdresses taking up
so much room. That`s Martin Tellez of the Tellez Aztec Dance school in LA.

This is a Latin thread for all holidays. Labor Day is tomorrow,

the Mexicans have to work anyway. "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" - right?

Christchurch, New Zealand 7.0 don`t rattle me.

Renne, is this what happens when someone gets you rattled? Image ImageImage Could you answer me this? Do you truly believe that you have some kind of control over the weather across the globe? If so, could you put your "powers" to good use, instead of all these earthquakes, floods and volcanic eruptions please. How about something nice like this? Image. Do let us know, without being cryptic or threatening
