Hi folks,

I've decided to take this matter here, as per Andrew's suggestion.

I've been getting some highly disturbing messages from a forum member named George. He hasn't yet posted here, yet, but in his private messages he has so far a) posted a personal address and photo as a "hint" to his capability of tracking me down b) talks about the private residence of another member of this forum c) made a veiled threat against me.

If it's possible, I can forward these messages along as proof.

I messaged the Moderator about checking out his IP, as I suspect him to be another member of this forum in "disguise", but they haven't yet gotten back to me.

So, what do I do?

 bloody hell, that would freak me out.....what makes you think it might be someone in disguise though and not just a newbie?

Well, tingra, he's been registered since December last year and hasn't made a single post here!

Also the content of his messages is highly reminiscent of certain folk I've encountered before.

Anthony you should contact the federal police so they can contact interpol. Especially if you believe this person has access to your person and is making threats against yourself and knowledge of your whereabouts.

I wouldn't feel comfortable chatting about this as if this was just another episode considering they have photos of you. (Not sure if I read that correctly - They used a photo of you or not and have your address)

hmmm, agreed.

It does seem a little strange that his stated 'hobby' is to pursue and harass others on the Forum and across the internet for his own pleasure. When this activity appears to have generated a little unwanted attention for himself he's playing the victim and crying foul !

Kinda goes with the territory doesn't it ?

Drumming up interest in who, exactly? I can't precisely say who it is. Why, do you have any ideas?

The sidelines commentator strikes again!

What the hell are you talking about? Uh, when did I say my "hobby" was to "pursue and harass others"? If so, who am I pursing and harassing?

If anything, what possessed you to track me down to the help section to provide your usual dose of sideline commentary? I didn't ask you to comment here. You took it upon yourself to do so. Pot calling the kettle black, methinks.

As to "playing the victim"...I'm talking about some pretty freaky stuff that's been sent to my inbox. I've already told the Mod about it, but they've been pretty quiet. Andrew, himself, suggested I take it here. So what exactly do you want me to do about it?

This is the website help section. So what is your snide commentary doing to help the matter, exactly? Clue: nothing.

Sheila,

Who exactly's "They're"?

rain,

If it leads to that path, I'll pursue it. In the meantime, I'll wait and see what the mods are gonna do, or what they suggest I can do about it.

I think TD is finding it a bit of a long haul on the road to Easter, so go gentle with him...there's obviously been a mix up somewhere but nevermind...as we were! :D

Rain,
It is I who misunderstood, you are not being accused of anything.
Proof once again that the male of the species cannot multi task.
Apologies!

Anthony, I stand by my comments. 'sideline commentator' ? You posted on a public Forum are you wishing to control who is allowed to take part ?
Whats the old saying ? Hang around with dogs but don't complain when you get fleas'?

You have pursued DF fairly relentlessly across these boards and others and have told us its your hobby.
No doubt you spend some time researching your nemesis and his friends to leverage your arguments and yet you seek sympathy when the boot appears to move to the other foot.
Your relationship with DF seems co-dependant, not in a good way.
As I said in my post before, if you accept thats its going no where why bother ?

Who ever 'George '# may be he seems to have a life equally as sad and Barren as yours if he was busy logging on to the Forum at 7.09am on Christmas morning !

TD

Accepted, that's all I wanted was an apology.
I'm happy anyway, I just saw the best adaption of Alice in Wonderland 3d. So kool. Highly recommend it. It's like my chill pill.

rain,

Don't worry about Thomas D. He's so caught up in his own bile, that he can't see the wood for the trees!

For the record, the Mod informed me, today, that the mysterious "George" has been removed from the forum. Problem solved :)

Tony,
In another case of cross-wires due to this forum bein' haunted by a rather vile person I tagged as palsy. I posted what was sent to me, based on te assumption from previous missives sent by same said person. The person, not palsy, thank goodness had the temerity to shamefacedly admit this odious transgression.

You should have posted what was safe to post. It would serve as a base as to the possibility other's here have also been stalked. To make a mystery out of it is fuel for cynics like Tom D. To hang out George's dirty nickers would be proof that yer bein' harassed, yes? That would have taken the wind out of blowhard Tom D's sails.

Hi Anthony,

Thomas has apologised profusely. To tell you the truth I was too "miffed" to see it at the time but behind what Thomas was saying, he was hurt more than anything, Anthony.

He had just recently helped me with Cistercians and acoustics. So he wasn't angry or anything else he was just confused and hurt.

I'm glad to hear that George is gone.

We've all had our fair share of stuff. And sometimes I think people don't get our Aussie sense of humour when means they don't get when we're being serious either.

I know he's on lent because he mentioned a bit back and I even got an idea for chicken (amended from the duck) off his announcement.

What he did was out of character, so overlook that. As Sheila said (translate to OZnglish) "she'll be right, mate. No worries"

Lol bloody hell...what is this thread turning into?

This is supposed to be the HELP section!

Content removed

rain,

He certainly seems to have an axe to grind. I mean, he chased me to the help section of the page to have a go about stuff on an entirely different thread.

Now, as to George...sheesh. I'm glad the Mod stepped up for that one. Unfortunately, rain, this is the kinda crap you gotta deal with in this case. Many people have complained about harassment from these "anonymous" folk. But I don't take it lying down. That's what they want you to do!

Yeah, our humour can let us down a bit sometimes. Lucky we're so laidback, eh?
