So let's see. residents in the area have been saying for years that there's a hollow sound under the stones that gave their village its name and people on here aren't interested?

Maybe it is time I left.

Assuming that's correct of course and not just you doing your usual wishful thinking.

But hey its getting aired now.

Not so, In fact, I'm very surprised that you hadn't heard of it.
But then I suspect I've already forgotten more than you ever knew about RLC.

Which is nothing to brag about, since most of it is nonsense.

And well, I don't expect you'd know that kind of thing anyway, since your focus is on other things entirely, like this thread.

Yeh right!

That's three hail Mary's for you tonight.

By the way when I said I wanted to leave this forum I was genuine.

The ONLY reason I'm still here is entirely because of TCP and Roger.

This thread is toast now and soon it will be closed.

The next one that doesn't get their approval will be closed and the next one and the next one.

Hopefully soon you'll all wake up.

Me? Ban me, I care not a jot. It will save any temptation.

It is clear to me that the reason this thread now gets your attention is the rabid jealousy that has now completely taken you over. But please carry on here because everyone is now getting an open demonstration of how you and Roger destroy any discussion not sanctioned by yourselves.

Please continue to dig

Not surprisingly, Roscoe, I don't know of anyone else on this forum whose self-worth rests on the number of thread hits they receive. Rest assured that if and when I ever aspire to be boring as batshit, you will certainly be the man I'll envy the most.

Well thank you for that and may I be the first to inform you that the entire arcadia community was hanging on your every rivetting and informative word there. With entertaining stuff like that who needs TV

You frighten them. I don't see anyone full stop these days apart from

TCP, Roger, TCP, Roger, TCP, Roger, TCP, Roger (I think you catch the drift now)

Well you'll be pleased to know that I ONLY stay because of you. If Andrew took my resignation that would do me a big big favour. But you see right now I get tempted to respond to the onslaught and feel that someone has to stand up otherwise this entire forum is toast.

Come in here PhC anytime you like. Whilst it is true that some things he says I have some trouble with the vast majority of his research is priceless and infinately more interesting than the biased twaddle peddled by Roger.

Oh by the way I didn't introduce Peyrolles until well into the thread, what about the other stuff?

for example did you know that the much reported tassle ceremony at Sauniere's funeral is a Bulgarian custom? That's Bulgarian as in Bulgars. I take it you know who the Bulgars became?

Think of it as Roger and I adding to your "thread count" to boost your self esteem.

Well you see the remark got you and Roger hot under the collar. That's a result. It now got this thread up to the top of the list.

The thread wont last of course because now I've got you two raging you wont be able to leave it and Mr Moderator will come by with his axe. The result will be a classic demonstration to the rest of the forum members as to where the problems of this forum lie.

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.” Matthew 5:14

“for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preacheth ye upon the housetops.” Matthew 10:26-28

The Apprentice Pillar
The Tree of Life carved in this pillar is familiar to students of Kabbalah. It is identified from Norse mythology as a graceful ash tree with its roots in the earth and its boughs reaching into heaven. The word ash is part of one of the sacred names of God, EHYEH ASHER EHYEH, I AM THAT I AM, the presence of God in man. We are given the illustration that God dwells within us, the I AM below as the I AM above, the vision given to Moses as he saw the burning bush, the light of God within himself. Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.” John 8:58

Symbols such as snakes and dragons often have dual interpretations, for they may be qualified as power for either good or evil. Dragon-like winged serpents are carved around the base of the Apprentice Pillar.

The serpent has been a symbol for the coil of spiritual light energy which spirals up the spinal column of the human body. Jesus referred to this serpentine upwardly spiralling energy when he said, “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up.” John 3:14 This spiral is evident in the Apprentice Pillar as an important aspect of our spiritual journey upward in consciousness to the attainment of the true wisdom of God.

Standing on Mount Nebo.

Numbers 21:4-9 (King James Version)

4And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.

5And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

6And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

7Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.

8And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

9And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

Nope. Maybe in roleplaying games, but not in real life. Jesuits. The Vincentians took over their property when they were suppressed.

about when the Jesuits were on the verge of excommunication

The Suppression of the Jesuits in Portugal, France, the Two Sicilies, Parma and the Spanish Empire by 1767 was a result of a series of political moves rather than a theological controversy[1]. By the brief Dominus ac Redemptor (21 July 1773) Pope Clement XIV suppressed the Society of Jesus.

you do bring up an interesting point

they too are intermingled with the early French settlements in America

You know what Lovuian, your winged serpents and your other recent posts might just be able to teach us all a thing or two - especially Roger and TCP.

Thought for the day:

One step ahead of the crowd - you're thought of as a genius
Two steps and you're looked on as a crackpot
