My littl'un did an Ancient Egypt assembly before half-term and all the mums were stunned when our little ones started singing this song, with actions!

(Sung to the tune of 'Hokey Cokey')

You stick the flint knife in,
You pull the flint knife out,
In out, in out, you pull the organs out.

You leave the heart in
But you pull the brain out,
That's what our job's about!

Whoa, we're making mummies!
Whoa, we're making mummies!
Whoa, we're making mummies!

Ancient Egypt, Embalmer!

You put the sawdust in,
You take the sawdust out,
In out, In out,
You shake the salt about

You leave for forty days
And it all dries out,
That's what our job's about!

Whoa, we're making mummies!
Whoa, we're making mummies!
Whoa, we're making mummies!

Ancient Egypt, Embalmer!

Hope you all have fun singing along!

Dread to think what the song would be if they study the history of Capital Punishment next!

clever kids!

Just hot off the ABC's 7:30 Report, a very interesting article on a CT Scan of an Egyptian mummy that has been in the care of the University of Sydney since the late 1800s.

Look for "Ancient Mystery Unravelled by Modern Day technology".

At: http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/

Enjoy.

Regards to all

Wombat.
