By the way I love smashed potatos...leave the skins on for extra vitamins, and season with huge dollops of creamy butter and just a dash of salt.

I am here late today. I put off coming in because I was burned out on all things Arcadia and needed a break. Plus I am not well versed in the tiniest little aspects of RLC lore as so many of you are here. I feel I rarely have anything new or of value to add..

Many of you must be asleep by now..But I'll place this discussion here primarily for Bill Kersey, when he wakes up on the morrow. Bill, you keep asserting the genuiness of Ben Hammot's discoveries. I explained yesterday (or was that the day before?) about the tomb in Kashmir, Roza Bal. indeed interested to know the truth, I would back Ben all the way and flood DRAC with demands that they do their jobs right and immediately..put the pressure on them. Call your uncle who works in the next building for help getting connections to contact.
Try every avenue you can think of to reach DRAC in support of Ben. It is not your decision to determine if it is fake or not....that's what we have experts for.

The problem is getting them to do their job, something even they don't agree on among themselves.

I am still trying to protect the site in Kashmir. I undesrtand Ben's dilema and all your scepticism but don;t quit on Ben. If he's done this for fame or money, that would be tragic and soon the whole world will know and he will be laughed and ridiculed, and maybe even face time as a guest of the State..I doubt he's trying to fool anyone. The risks are just too high. Let the experts decide.
Shasta

Hi Shasta, I can understand the problems facing your Kashmir Tomb.
With Ben's Tomb it is a matter of timing as there are some things holding up progress.
When you have to wait for 35 years to unearth a site then it is great to see things moving forward. Most find it difficult to wait five years. But it will happen in the end.
People find it hard to face up to genuine discoveries which they do not have a hand in, or worse they are discovered by foreigners. Oh the indignity!
But now Ben and others are firmly in compliance with DRAC procedures there will be a good outcome eventually. Sauniere could not reveal the discoveries he was saddled with due to pressure from 'The Order'.
We do not bow to these pressures now despite serious threats to Ben.
The artefacts so far revealed were all discovered in good faith. A few more months is a small matter in the overall plan of things. Patience is a virtue. But give it me NOW!
Bon chance.

Ever face an AK-47? Or worse, a sword wielding religious fanatic? Correction: a dozen sword wielding fanatics running around outside the tomb yelling Allaho Akbar?

Bill

I am serious about the AK-47's...when Paul Davids went there (2 years ago) to film his latest 'Jesus in India" ..he was advised that as an American, he should wait back at his rooms. He sent an Indian film crew of 2 men...They were immediately surrounded and threatened. They got this encounter on film..
If Ben succeeds, and I hope he will, then tell him to join me in Kashmir...the pair of us as Tomb Raiders might have better luck than me alone!
Stay in touch...If I'm not around here...please do send an email...keep me advised how it's going. I wish you and Ben all the best and success with this exciting project!...

I see VAM has changed the subject from how Ben expects the tomb to be excavated without authorization from the owner and how the existence of the tomb was confirmed by DRAC when the hole was plugged up again with foam, to "roasties". I think VAM would do well in politics.

No, VAM didn't change the subject, Sandy and I were attempting to restore a little friendly goodwill to this thread. We were reminiscing about good food, friendly conversation, and laughter shared amongst friends in a place we mutually adore: the Languedoc.

You should go there some time.

There is plenty of time to debate a topic that has been hammered at ad nasueum by you and others. The excavation will happen soon enough (and no, don't ask me when because I don't know.)

For the record, Ben's potatos are wicked good (Pat's roast duck is mighty fine too.)

Best,

A. Nesos

Shasta, it was Ben who delayed the excavation - not the DRAC.

Arrangements were under way to do an internal survey using a remote camera of the tomb structure to find the best way to gain entry. Unfortunately Ben had to put this on hold.

Thanks for explaining VAM...I got the impression from posts here that Ben approached DRAC and they weren't interested at all...which is what cast doubts on his find in the first place.....so thanks for the clarification.

Of course, because DRAC are incapable of doing that unless a British potato cook is accompanying them. He doesn't own the property and he's not supplying the equipment, which is hard to come by because cameras and sticks are scarce and duct tape practically nonexistent, but he directs the DRAC operations nonetheless. They patiently await his command. "Is it time yet, sir" the director asks. "No", replies Hammott, "when I have time to go there and supervise, THEN it will be time, now shut up, maggots, I'm eating my roasties". "Sorry, sir", reply the DRAC officials, "oh how we long for the day when France is no longer a colony of Great Britain".

Hi Sandy,

You are right, it will go to his head. Best not to encourage him, eh?

Warmly,

Thank you for pointing out that Sauniere used red ink on his SOT PECHEUR word grid, that is a real connection to the notes in the bottles. With the Abbe Gelis confession note revelation, the word "SOT" certainly seems significant as it relates to the fate of Judas. Did Sauniere hire the assassins?

I'm no expert on this but from what I glean from the Internet sources we do not possess the original Sot Pecheur document, and in fact there are several different versions floating around. Are we sure that the SP was 1) written by Sauniere and 2) that it was written in red ink?

So where does the claim that the original was written in red ink come from?

Maybe someone can start a new thread, Cooking with Ben. His trademark? Putting a shot of vodka in everything.
