The term has been applied to me also, which is why I mentioned it. As I said it applies to a very diverse group. Now don't get your panties in a bunch, I was in no way hammering you personally, I was merely splaining why I don't like the word.

At least, through it all, I have been HONEST. Maybe, honestly wrong.....but I have never had the intent to deceive anyone.

It hasn't been too long since Tina told me I was getting what I deserve.....maybe the Universe is creating balance for everyone.

1. You do not tell anyone in advance that we are going. I do not want a confrontation with Ben or Pat.
2. We do nothing more than dig it out enough to get a camera down the shaft, get some good film, and allay your fears.
3. We disturb nothing and certainly we do not take anything.
4. We reseal and conceal the entrance.
If you prefer, I will go to the site alone, retrieve the footage, and keep you entirely out of it. I have a rough idea where it is and could likely find it with a few days effort. What would happen next would depend on what is found.
I will do this because I love you, but it must be done honorably and properly.

We began planning a trip for May. I informed my wife and began assembling kit. I told Sandy this past Saturday (via Skype) that I doubted we would ever find a real tomb, but if I was wrong, I would put up a substantial amount of my own money to see it properly excavated. Further, I would apologise to 'Ben Hammott' for ever doubting him.

That was the day before his half-assed confession broke.

At first, I felt some level of pity for Bill Wilkinson. That is gone.

Many thanks for that, at least that explains your sudden return to the Forum.
The confession went to great lengths to insist that only Bill W bore any reponsibility for the fraud perpetrated.
BTW seeing as you're so close to the arrangements can you confirm whether bill was sole author of the piece or was it dictated to him, written on his behalf ?

Can you see the problem that some may be labouring under in this instance?
The issue is whether anyone actually believes that Sandy has spent much of the last decade vociferously snarling at anyone
who dared to question the tomb and dear ol'Ben's work without seeing the slightest shred of tangible, verifiable evidence herself.
Earlier I quoted her statement from the book (p610) in which she makes it clear that she is at the heart of a team that will be proved right.
If she is the resourceful and tenacious researcher that some would have us believe then why this ten year black hole in her research?
It would appear that if this is taken at face value then why would anyone bother reading Redhesium (sp) again as its compiled by a researcher who has used her naivety and guillibility as a defence in this case?
Who would listen to someone who couldn't or wouldn't apply any kind of critical faculty to see beyond Bens amateurish attempts?

Why would someone with pretensions to be an archeologist turn up to a meeting with alleged relics so valuable as to be beyond
price in a plastic carrier bag? My recollection of that evening is that despite Bill k's wilder flights of fancy she sat in silence smirking
rather than offer any kind of professional restraint?
That kind of behavior would even embarass tony Robinson !

A lot of those women were self-proclaimed psychics, 'seers', etc. Funny thing is, none of them ever said 'this guy is a con-man'. Instead, they prattled on about Ben's 'special energy' his 'inner light', etc. And this will come as no surprise: Bill Wilkinson bedded more than a couple of them. I feel sorry for them, as most were very nice ladies.

OMG, I just had a thought: you don't think Wilkinson put this together as the world's most elaborate plot to get laid, do you?

On a more serious note:

A number of people have speculated that Sandy and Bill Wilkinson were romantically involved. This is not true. She gave Bill Wilkinson a place to stay (her home) when he had nowhere else to go, that's all. I would have done the same thing for someone I thought my friend.

Well, there are so many people out there who are so desperate to 'believe', particular the mag-heads, who are IMHO defined by the seemingly never ending credulity, so this is perhaps not too surprising.

Can I ask you something Paul, as someone who claims to be close to Sandy, does she fully accept that the tomb/body/bottles were indeed a hoax perpetrated by Bill Wilkinson? In other words, was she being 'facetious' when she claimed she didn't actually believe the Bill/Ben confusion/confession?

Gentlemen, I do agree totally with what you are both saying, but, out of respect for the fairer sex, might I note that there are plenty of extremely credulous male Mag-Heads out there as well. We even have a few resident here on this forum. And last but not least, is not the great, arch-Mag-Head himself a man? I am, of course, referring to Dan Brown.

Again true enough, but, again, never underestimate the need for some men to feel that they are under the control (and therefore protection) of their mama. As such, there are many men who are internally desperate for a matriarchy. You cannot simply view it as a women's belief system. The evolution of the Ancient Matriarchy Hoax is a perfect example. The amount of men who were involved in critcal stages of its development would probably shock you.

Having said all that, I do know what you are saying, and this forum is unfortunately a perfect example of the point you are making...

Actually, I was chatting with her on Skype the very moment she made that post. The comment was facetious, and meant to be funny, IMO, but it expressed a very real exasparation with anything said by or about Wilkinson.

why are you thinking these supposed slurs might be direct at you. I think people are merely pointing out that in this particular field there are many people a lot of them women who are not being objective enough and analysing things. I think that's been well and truly proven after all this. Even that is not a slur, it is an observation on a particular scenerio
