Carrie Kirkpatrick debuted her excellent new documentary on the Mystical Legends of Spain. Girona: City of Secrets in London's Devereux pub last night. In attendance were members of London's 'Moot With No Name' as well as special guests Patrice Chaplin, Ben Hammott, Bill Kersey, Rat Scabies, David Barrett and London's Rav Fashion designer, Namalee Bolle.

The documentary, which was original created as part of series on Mysterious Spain for ex-pats living in Spain, is now the full ownership of Carrie, so any interested parties should inquire here and I will put you in touch with her.

The footage and interviews were superb (although I might be biased) and featured Patrice and myself as 'talking heads' and was introduced by David Barrett, who provided an excellent background to the Girona story for those who were not familiar.

Here are some pictures from the night.

Thanks for the update Andy - good to hear it went well. And the photos are great.
And is it my imagination, but is Ben beginning to resemble the portrait of Sauniere shown on the front cover of his book? Surely a step too far?!

I can vouch for the fact that Ben only drank 6 or 7 Vodka and Cokes - no more VAM.

And I was touched that he signed my copy of his book:

"To Andy, maybe one day you will believe"

Seriously, Ben was in very good form and it was really nice to see him. We had a laugh. :P

Thanks Andrew for posting these pictures. It is really lovely having faces to see that go with names :-)

Cheers!

p.s. Vodka/Coke (tell ben that the caffeine in the Coke just ruins the vodka buzz )

You are all having wayyyyyyyyyyy too much fun without me..
I'm moving to London ASAP.
Picture of David Barrett working the room with his arm in a sling? Looks like someone worked over David. Hope that's no indication how David and Andy settle their RLC differences. :(

Ha! I don't think David and Andy have many, if any RLC differences, actually.

That was a terrific video with the interviews with Patrice and Andrew, the

Girona tour, and the Society ceremony reenactment. The names they were

invoking all ended in "...iel" which reminded me of the angels in the "Book of Enoch".

Even tho' it wasn't mentioned as to the 4 folks doin' their mantra 'thang' in Girona on the video, its clear that their voices were British. IMHO, Are they the 'special' guests?

My 1st thought was are they forum folks as well ? If so, they took that scene seriously. I didn't notice any buddy hammin' it up for the camera. The 1st thing I noticed is that Andrew lost his Chicago twang.

Is this the stairway to the side door to the French woman`s house described by Patrice in CoS? Thank you to DVB for obtaining and publishing these controversial photographs. These were old pictures weren`t they? They were given to Patrice by a 91 year old woman but the publisher objected to them. The pictures we have of RLC and Girona were professional pictures taken for postcard production. I think that the above photos were an early form of photo-shop to remember visits to an area where a professional photog was not available. That`s a great close-up of Sauniere.

Me-thinks the pictures are about as old as City of Secrets! All the Sauniere pictures can be found elsewhere and have been Photoshopped more recently over the older original Girona photographs. Shame but true :(

I`d say that these photos were composed a long time ago.

And, lest we forget - the hotel stationery snafu. Too bad the publisher didn't "reject" that one!

The same objection was raised to the Castillon Diary -

the hotel time-line. It seems to be a common debunker`s ploy.

The top character is Alfred rather than his brother imo.

Your hero never stayed at the Hotel Boscolo in Lyon Mary because that particular
grand Bourgeois hotel didn't operate under that name until about 100yrs AFTER he claimed to have visited.........
Ergo 'Castillion Diary' is a modern invention.

Do you really want to humiliate yourself again?

Let it go...........!
Try and show a modicum of dignity and self respect.
