I've only just got round to reading your link, interesting finds. The Minoans were supposedly well travelled, as they had a lot of trade routes with the Middle East.
There is a docu-drama about Atlantis on the BBC at the moment that hypothesizes that the Atlanteans were actually Minoan or from Santorini / Thera.

I saw the doco over here. It's really good. Good graphics and an explanation of why it was greatest volcanic eruption in history - as to atlantis... it doesn't really explain the continuing myth of atlantis, IMO.

I saw the doco also Rain.

I agree with your conclusion.

(It would be interesting to know how the Krakatoa eruption compares to the eruption of the Thera volcano.).

Krakatoa was a Category 6 and Thera was a 7, which means ten times more powerful.
