Hi,

Does anyone have any comments about the claim that Pierre Plantard sought to be elected as an Annemasse Council Housing representitive in 1956?

Regards,

Spartacus

Perhaps I've misunderstood SP’s question (and the election in question), but there is this copy of “Circuit” 27 May 1956, which seems evidence of PP's having stood for election and for his having been (re-)elected.

http://priory-of-sion.com/psp/pcc/circuit1956.html

“Au Comité Local d’Annemasse.
La constitution du Comité Local a été une victoire, car sur : 52
Locataires, 45 voix ont voté ... pour les présents membres du Comité!
[...]
Mr Plantard Président
Mr. Chappaz Vice-Président”
Etc.

Hi Roger,

Who made that claim? As far as I know, it isn't true. But he did use the state of Council Housing (HLM isn't quite the same, but close enough) to embarrass the mayor.

I suspect you're sourcing this from a well-known web page.

Well, 'sourcing' a source that I also suspect used the source you mention! Hence my questions...

Wow. The last time I became involved in this particular issue it raised one hell of a sh*t storm  :!: Interestingly, 'it' would seem to be an accepted 'fact' nowadays, variously repeated in books, documentaries, and online sites.

Even the much more derogatory accusation would seem to be again doing the rounds...

It never ceases to amaze me just how much confusion and obfuscation is still attached to the whole Sion saga...

My 'source of a source' (SOAS!) quotes a letter supposedly written by Plantard trying to involve himself in exactly the position (I think) highlighted in the post by Paddy!

What I wonder about really, is the continuing claim by Sion sceptics that Plantard and the Priory 'were never political', despite the obvious evidence to the contrary, including the supposed letter mentioned above :? :!:

Spartacus
