Hello, TCP I have a question for you regarding who you contacted regarding being able to claim arms as well as titles.
My mother's father's side on both sides are Hidalgos. And my father's family also is already documented Hidalgos however with the new Spanish system they will not recognize Hidalgos from the female line.
We are directly descended from Visagoth kings as well as the Duke of Albuquerque Beltran De Cueva family, Hurtado y Mendoza and Casa De Solar and Carvajal family to name a few. We would be normally titled Dona/Don English translation would be lord or lady de..... I believe we also have other titles but since the lines have gone extinct in the "direct male lines" we would not be entitled to them as we are female descended and too much time has lapsed.. at least I don't think. Unofficially we are considered Immemorial nobility. Nobility that is established as existing since before normal records of Spanish nobility during the Roman period.
Our genealogy is most very closely tied to Doña María del Rosario Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart y Silva, 18th Duchess of Alba de Tormes, Grandee of Spain. And the of course the king Juan Carlos. However we are descended from most recently from the youngest children of the titled Grandees that went to seek fortune and acclaim from the king.
I was wondering how were you able to contact Guy Sainty and others to verify our documents. Most of the work on our family has been done by recognized researchers and historians in the U.S.,Mexico and Spain. We still have Spanish land grants in our name given to us by the King of Spain.
However it has been a little difficult getting information from our state historians without them wanting us to buy their research journals.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much TCP xx
