Unfortunately, the modern day Vampire film is full of repressed little high school vampires who are going through some sort of vampire puberty.

Ah but our schools are replete with mortal versions of the same, at least in the States.
That's where the cinematic money is and the industry follows the blood scent.

The dark romantic allure is not lost on the boys or even men, this large format comic was available only by request from behind the counter of my teenage years store.

and we see a woman in red with a skull at her left foot...

Exactly. Not for the young like Anne Rice books or films.
I sure had to keep those Vampirella comics hidden from Mom!

Very well could be an intuitive thought not without basis. The artist is well steeped in history and myth.
Frank Frazetta was a breakthrough artist in depicting empowered women.
This below might be my favorite of his.

love empowered women! am one i believe ;-)
however, the deeper meaning of magdalene and skull...
is what i am referring to...

hey, you know that my son is so into manga...
it worries me but soothes me too...as we watch it together..
and he so feels for darth vadar...
and i so love him for feeling for dv.

he sees how much human evil is a result of horrible trauma in prior years which may or may not lead to exhibited evil behaviour...
(he is 12 on the 20th of this month :-)

try though to explain that beyond the duality within this dimension...
there is True Good and True Evil...that both transcend and permeate our dimension

he is not able to comprehend this...or wishes not to fear that evil...

That was a bit of a stretch I made there but actually his Vampiriella was not the norm. She was from a far away planet of the same and came here as a savior to rid our world of the bad vampires. She only drank from enemies. :D

I think your son will have a lot straightened out well in due time but I understand your concerns. Don't forget he was you're "little Yoda"!
Some trouble with mine began in those years in trying to "empower" himself in ways he shouldn't have and rejecting "evil' as man made. An easy excuse to "do as he wilt".

So who will start the "Lost" thread coming soon? Can't wait!

A little birthday gift for your Vadar fan. 8)
