I'll help L but you may not like the result now. Vamp.

Former Vegas showgirl Cassandra Peterson made a fortune with her Elvira Mistress of the Dark TV production in the 80's where she sarcastically and hilariously commented on the C rated horror films of the times which she presented weekly.
She went on to film roles including one with the critically acclaimed dramatician Pee Wee Herman and still appears in various works as a recognized pop icon.

L click on her link and watch the video for laughs. A true comedic talent. She would cut into el-cheapo films throughout and make outrageous and risque comments .

Claudia and Pandora. (it appears Claudia invoked her non-photographic powers)

I'd rather shave my eyeballs than watch New Moon.

My little contribution.

Well then I hope you avoided The Queen of the Damned from where I lifted my 2 up there. Rice's best novel imo and a near total waste of good celluloid, except for the Femme-Vamps.

There is only so much self-pity and whining that I can take in a Vampire film.
Unfortunately, the modern day Vampire film is full of repressed little high school vampires who are going through some sort of vampire puberty.

You'd think The Lost Boys had never been a classic.
Or Near Dark
Or indeed...Fright Night!

Anyway, I doubt I can ever fully appreciate Twilight on account of having a penis.

Ah but our schools are replete with mortal versions of the same, at least in the States.
That's where the cinematic money is and the industry follows the blood scent.

The dark romantic allure is not lost on the boys or even men, this large format comic was available only by request from behind the counter of my teenage years store.

Mr. Dandridge we are both precipitously closely placing ourselves into a potentially dangerous, horrible, callow and viscous situation here.

Nic I took a scary and alone into the inner city bus ride to see the slime. Even at 15 years age I knew I'd been had.
Almost the same feelings of P.A., and wished for my money back but some of those end scenes had me going.

Steve McQueen's breakthrough starring in the original Blob - '58 below in full but don't waste your time except if you want nostalgia B- grade.

How 'boot the demons that tormented folks like Philip K Dick and other sci-fi writers to crank out their stuff? They all had quirky personalities to say the least. Steve King don't zakly come across as bein' all that balanced IMHO, he cranked out a lot of weird shit, just like Lady Shelley doin' her Frankenstein bit, what was she on?

Bram Stoker, Oscar Wild with his portrait of Dorian Grey, the list is endless of a bunch of tormented souls who cranked out equally tormented works. Was Marquis De Sade the poster child for this genre?

Funny you should mention Philip K.Dick, as I've just finished reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, or as it's known to the masses, Blade Runner.

Fantastic story and whilst I love the film, I'd love to have seen a closer adaptation of the book.
The 3 sequels to the book are by Jeter and follow the film version timeline instead of the original story. Still working my way through them.

Stephen King is said to live in a large home in the Maine countryside that is split in style down the middle. One side is New England antique country-life finery while the other is an absolute dark terror in a complete macabre style. One can guess easily where he gets his work on.

Not his best novel (imho), although a good one.

Highly recommend: Man in the High Castle, Ubik, A Maze of Death, Flow My Tears, Through A Scanner Darkly, VALIS (trilogy), Radio Free Albemuth.

They turned VALIS into an opera by Todd Machover. I'd love to see a film version. But I'd syncretize the plots of VALIS and Radio Free Albemuth. And maybe throw in some parts of the Secret Ascension.

Tormented? Maybe. But like I said earlier, the Exegesis is a fascinating treatise, on philosophical grounds. It does put forward a Gnostic cosmology, though.

Dick insisted toward the end of his life that his VALIS experience/encounter was real. The Exegesis is his attempt to find meaning for it.

Mine too, I even look and think like Roy (sometimes).

The Roy of the book is a little different, but Rutger Hauer did an excellent job of bringing him to life.
A fantastic actor who is absolutely charming in real life and very down to earth.

As for the artwork, I'm torn between Frazetta and Valejo. I'm probably more inclined to go with the latter, but both are worthy of the genius label.

It's a bit of a toss-up I'll agree. Boris Vallejo can hold his work to Frank Frazetta equally and is more prolific.

Lovuian you'll love these too.

If you've ever done those online 'what celebrity do you look like" photo uploads, I usually always get Hauer. I wish! Just to let you know what this sort of odd poster looks like here.

Wow...never heard of him and yes way too short of a life for such talent.

 (blush!)

Imagine...if the rugged Rutger Hauer and the immaculately poised and stylish Audrey Hepburn had made a film?

It boggles the mind and soul!
