This is just a query I'm putting out, on the off-chance that someone might know the answer, and be kind enough to share it.

It's something I've long wondered about, and the Guy Patton interview jogged my memory.

The late Michael Bentine is best known in the UK for being one of the Goons, but he was also very interested in the sort of subjects under discussion on this Forum including, I believe, Rennes-le-Chateau. He also worked for British Intelligence, for Airey Neave, during WWII.

Apparently he once addressed a meeting of the Rennes Group that Guy Patton chairs (I think it was the Rennes Group, but maybe it was the Sauniere Society, or some other RLC group), and at some point during this meeting I understand he cautioned those present to back off from a certain topic, because he said they were getting into "dangerous territory" (those exact words).

It's not impossible that someone here might have been at that meeting, or at least knows about what transpired there, in which case I would dearly love to know the specific topic under discussion that prompted Bentine to make such a remark.

Anyone know?

Thanks, Sheila and Roger.

I guess that answers the question.

I hoped it might be something more interesting. :(

Someone ought to bring this up at the next Rennes Group meeting.

Quote:
DR: You’ve said that a former British Intelligence agent, Michael Bentine warned the Rennes le Chateau Research Group that they “were getting into dangerous territory?” What was the danger? Can you elaborate on this story?

GP: Michael Bentine was probably alluding to the existence of the “stay behind operations” and the involvement of right wing politics. This aspect of the Rennes-le-Chateau story was first hinted at in the Messianic Legacy by Baigent, Lincoln and Leigh and has been further explored in Web of Gold. The stakes in European politics are very high and I think that there has been an attempt to dissuade research into certain critical areas.

DR: Are you convinced that the Pierre Plantard and other members of the Priory of Sion were involved with the Nazi movement and the Vichy government in France? If so, how does this reconcile with the Priory’s seemingly Zionist agenda, supporting the restoration of monarchy based on the Biblical House of David?

GP: Plantard may not have been directly involved with the Nazi movement but he was certainly a supporter of Marshal Pétain and his Vichy government. The Vichy ideology was based on a belief in a national regeneration of France by an elite which would promote a blend of Christian and Chivalric ideals. This may have paralleled the Nazi agenda but was independent and strictly French. As to the Priory of Sion – Jewish question, a differentiation between political (and cultural) Zionism and the more religious Judaic tradition is crucial. The Priory of Sion does not support Zionism, but in its Dossiers Secrets does appear to acknowledge that Jesus Christ was of the biblical line of David. A bloodline of Jesus, in which they include the Merovingian monarchs, must therefore be Jewish. It is evident that the Priory of Sion have had to find a mechanism of reconciling their essentially Christian beliefs with Jesus’s traditional Jewish roots. And this may well lie at the heart of the Priory’s mythology. It should be noted that during the war, Vichy persecution of Jews was almost exclusively confined to the deportation of Askenazi Jews that had fled into France from eastern Europe. The resident Sephardic community was left largely untouched.

DR: You’ve said that the Priory’s real agenda is right wing politics, and that the story of the bloodline of Jesus is just a cover. Does that mean that they made up the whole “Grail bloodline” thing to begin with, and that they don’t really care about it at all? And why would they use such an unorthodox cover anyway?

GP: It is entirely possible that those associated with the Priory of Sion do believe in a bloodline of Jesus, but in the absence of any genuine documentation they have created their own mythological evidence. However, I don’t believe that the protection of a physical bloodline is central to the Priory’s agenda. The symbolism of a Jesus bloodline is in fact another variation of the tradition of Secret Masters, Unknown Superiors etc., found in all synarchic groups that attempt to give a legitimacy to the imposition of a ruling elite. By convincing people of the actual existence of a bloodline of Jesus within a section of the nobility of France, the Priory may believe it will be easier to achieve their synarchist agenda, and at the same time, reduce the authority of the Vatican.

You are reminded about the letter sent to the Chronicle production crew maintaining they have evidence that Jesus was alive in 44 CE. Also Josephin Peladin bragged openly that he knew the whereabouts of Jesus' grave.

Is the Skorzeny story true and what is the information on the two Maquis members buried in Rennes le Chateau?

Roscoe have you read the book Sarah's Key
It is all about
Vel' d'Hiv Roundup

of which I was not aware of
Everybody has heard of Auchwitz but not that France participated ENTHUSIASTICALLY in the round up of Jews
mass arrest in Paris by the French police on 16 and 17 July 1942, code named Opération Vent printanier ("Operation Spring Breeze"). The roundup was one of several aimed at reducing the Jewish population in occupied France. According to records of the Préfecture de Police, 13,152 victims were arrested[1] and held at the Vélodrome d'Hiver and the Drancy internment camp nearby, then shipped by railway transports to Auschwitz for extermination. French President Jacques Chirac apologized in 1995 for the complicit role that French policemen and civil servants served in the raid.

The roundup, which was part of a continent-wide plan to intern and exterminate Europe's Jewish population, was a joint operation between the Germans and French administrators

Now we had Germans given the death penalty for this but what of the French adminstrators?
Did they escape punishment?

Until the German occupation of France in 1940, no roundup would have been possible because no census listing religions had been held in France since 1874. A German ordinance on 21 September 1940, however, forced Jewish people of the occupied zone to register at a police station or sub-prefectures (sous-préfectures). Nearly 150,000 registered in the department of the Seine, encompassing Paris and its immediate suburbs. Their names and addresses were kept by the French police in the fichier Tulard, a file named after its creator, André Tulard, head of "Jewish Questions" at the préfecture.

Theodor Dannecker, the SS captain who commanded the German police in France, said: "This filing system subdivided it into files alphabetically classed, Jews with French nationality and foreign Jews having files of different colours, and the files were also classed, according to profession, nationality and street." These files were then handed to section IV J of the Gestapo, in charge of the "Jewish problem."

René Bousquet, secretary-general of the national police, and Louis Darquier de Pellepoix, head of the "Jewish Question", travelled on 4 July 1942 to Gestapo headquarters to meet Dannecker and Helmut Knochen of the SS. A further meeting took place in Dannecker's office in the avenue Foch on 7 July. Also present were Jean Leguay, Bousquet's deputy, a man called François who was director of the general police, Émile Hennequin, the head of Paris police, André Tulard, and others from the French police.

Rene Bousquet ends up dying at the best time to avoid further inquiries on who his FRIENDS were?

It was an absolute terrible heinous crime of huge proportions
it was all about the CHILDREN

On 2 July 1942, René Bousquet attended a planning meeting in which he raised no objection to the arrests and worried only about the "embarrassing [gênant]" fact that the French police would carry them out. Bousquet succeeded in a compromise that the police would round up only foreign Jews. Vichy ratified that agreement the following day.[6]

Although the police have been blamed for rounding up children of less than 16 – the age was set to preserve a fiction that workers were needed in the east – the order was given by Pétain's minister, Pierre Laval, supposedly as a "humanitarian" measure to keep families together. This too was a fiction, given that the parents of these children had already been deported, and documents of the period have revealed that the anti-semitic Laval's principal concern was what to do with Jewish children once their parents had been deported. The youngest child sent to Auschwitz under Laval's orders was 18 months old.

Three former SS officers testified in 1980 that Vichy officials had been enthusiastic about deportation of Jews from France. The investigator Serge Klarsfeld found minutes in German archives of meetings with senior Vichy officials and Bousquet's proposal that the roundup should cover non-French Jews throughout the country.[7]

The historians Antony Beevor and Artemis Cooper record:

"Klarsfeld also revealed the telegrams Bousquet had sent to Prefects of départements in the occupied zone, ordering them to deport not only Jewish adults but children whose deportation had not even been requested by the Nazis."[7

Why did they go after the children?

I sometimes wonder if this isn't about protecting bloodlines but about destroying them
Bousquet was given amnesty on January 17 1958

he financially supported Mitterand

This is a bit predictive and the phrase "G.F.C." most certainly hadn't been coined yet.

Quote:
DR: Is there any chance that we will see the return of “Divine Right” monarchy in our lifetimes because of the work of these secret societies?

GP: It is impossible to predict the future. If Western Capitalism were to collapse, the resulting power vacuum would give rise to unimaginable conflict and hardship. History has shown so far that the victors of these situations are usually dictators supported by the far Right or far Left. The concept of a spiritually benevolent “divine monarch” is probably only an idealistic dream which could never become a reality.

Michael Bentine, quite a talented man. I wonder how many of his fans were aware of the range of his talents ? The former Templar Lodge Hotel in Gullane (now converted into flats) had a room dedicated to the memory of him.

Comedians generally are though (talented that is) they have an understanding of human nature and society that resonates deeply with us.
I like it when comedians do drama and you can see their true depths. For instance Billy Connolly in "Mrs. Brown" was magnificant.
I just looked him up and he's from Watford in Hertfordshire and started in shakespearean acting, he was M19 and he spent 2 years in Australia. Ahhh that's his secret.

I don't know if I remember correctly but I think they might have had one of the training bases somewhere in Hertforshire for the stay-behind-units.

As I mentioned Michael Bentine had a room named after him in the Templar Lodge Hotel in Gullane. Sadly no longer a hotel...ah the memories of Sauniere Society meetings held there ! http://megrobb.typepad.com/britishtrave ... stery.html

Michael Bentine was also an author, perhaps his best book was a sort of autobiography-cum-study of the paranormal The Door Marked Summer http://thebrowser.com/interviews/richar ... e-on-magic which I must acquire again.

Did you know that the late Ludovic Kennedy was blackballed by Muirfield -he'd cast doubt on the conviction of Paddy Meehan, and the judge at Meehan's case was a member of the Hon. Company . On the subject of Gullane to the north of the Muirfield course there's the remains of a chapel, St Patrick's. http://www.geolocation.ws/v/W/4d5b1f6b1 ... ered-by/en .

Sorry, a million miles form RLC and the topic !
