I guess Ron Howard and Mel Gibson ain't drinking buddies, otherwise with the right palm greasing Howard and Hanks could get some location shots.

Hanks didn't help the cause too much with some comments he made defending Dan Brown + the story line of Da Vinci code.

It seems to be a case of what comes around goes around 'til it bites ya in the butt. Why Howard hasn't adopted a Catholic orphange, nunnery, etc to get his palm greasing mojo going is rather puzzling.

In past, Jewish producer-directors have been quite generous to Catholic charities in the U.S in exchange for location shots. I recall a movie made many years ago about Boys Town and the favorable publicity made about the financial support Boys Town got from the production company.

Does the Howard + Hank team think their names alone will open any doors these days? Palm greasing is as old as the human social scene.

DVC was a low point in the careers of Howard, Hanks (and Tautou) must do better next time.
